Have you ever had any weird vehicle happenings. I found the build date sticker on my 1996 Corvette on the cars 17th birthday. On June 30, 2012 I was browsing a Corvette forum when I found a thread about where to find the car's build date. I naturally went out to the garage and starting pulling off body panels to find the sticker. Turns out it was my cars birthday. I made Mrs. Blacktruck drive me to Safeway to buy a cake (I had been drinking and she is very tolerant of my drunken good ideas ) and we celebrated my Corvette's birthday.

The build date sticker.

The Corvette in all it's clam shell hooded awesomeness and prettied up at a Corvette Show.

When I bought my car, I told the owner of the dealer (which was an Audi performance specialist dealer) that I had seen a black B6 S4 in my high school parking lot with a sticker for his dealer on it, which I at first though was a sticker for a tuner. I knew the girl who owned it, and I asked him if he knew whose it was, and he told me he didn't recognize the description of the car. I later posted on Facebook when I had the A8 home, and the girl who owned the S4 immediately commented, "Oh, you got that from the dealership my brother owns!"

Love your car man. Is it a manual/LT4?

My truck was manufactured in 8/1993. I was born on 8/4/1993. Its very likely that my truck and I share a birthday

Not me, but my parents. We have a 240 wagon that my Dad bought in '99, it's build date is the same month/year they got married. It's odometer also stopped on 228739, a week before my Dad's birthday in 2007, which was 2/27/2007, he turned 39. The 240 started having some problems, so my Dad bought a parts wagon. Turns out that one was built the same month and year he graduated.

I really haven't had any coincidences yet. I'll have to find the build date on mine sometime.

Absolutely beautiful car, by the way!

I ran the VIN on a car I purchased the other day and it was built on my daughter's birthday. That was a weird one.

That's funny. He probably didn't want to let you know it was his sister so you wouldn't ask for a friends a family discount.

On my 68 Camaro, the trim tag gives you the week and month the car was built. Mine was built the third week of March 1968, My grandpas birthday is March 22, so I would say that my Camaro was built on his birthday. Well this year the NCRS has begun offering the original GM shipping data for many 60 Chevy muscle cars. Since I have no paperwork on my 68 I jumped at the chance, the shipping info gives you the exact build date and then the original dealer the car was shipped to. Well when I got my shipping report my 68 was in fact built on March 22,1968. So my grandpa and Camaro have the same birthday.

That's awesome. Especially that he bought a 240 parts car.

Thank you, unfortunately I no longer own it. I am not sure about the early C4's but, on the late C4's it is on the driver side on the inside of the panel over the battery. It might be in the same place on yours.

Having grown up in a small town in the midwest I know how weird it is to come across something like that in the middle of nowhere.

I might have to do some investigating tomorrow. Is this on the panel where the vents are? I know on my 87 that panel is designed to come off easy to take the battery out.

Yes, that panel exactly. Take the 2 screws off the top of the panel and the 2 screws off the bottom and it will come right off. Make sure you get it lined up right when you but it back on though, it is easy to f'up the door when you open it if it isn't perfect.

Pics of '87?

I'd just handed over the cash for my red '85 and pulled out of the lot when a red '86 drives up to the light next to us. Drove next to it half of the way home! I have pics on my computer. I'd forgotten about your LT4—great story!

IIRC, ours is where tire pressure information is on the inside of the door, actually. I remember seeing mine being May something '85 in there. Water got in the sticker so it's hard to see.
